Where is the support?

Getting for a diagnosis can be long so when you get it you want support soon. Hear Sandra's experience getting help with her son and what happened when she spoke to our helpline.

We often hear from parents who are waiting for a diagnosis for their child and don’t know where to get support in the meantime.

Sandra contacted our Helpline as she had been waiting years for her daughter to be diagnosed with autism. Since the diagnosis, Sandra felt that she was being ‘passed around the system’ and referrals were getting lost.

We got in touch with Medway Community Healthcare on Sandra’s behalf. After chasing, Sandra heard from the Medical Director and received an appointment for her daughter.
