What people have told us about community pharmacies in Medway

On the last Friday of July 2023, we hit the streets of Chatham and chatted with 81 of our residents who shared their thoughts with us, in the high street and right outside the local pharmacies.

Guess what? We found out that many of us visit our pharmacies for prescriptions and everyday essentials. But, did you know, only a handful of us pop in for advice? We met three friendly faces who did, and it was eye-opening!

Our community is savvy about what our pharmacies offer. From vaccinations to blood pressure checks, they've got it all. Nine out of ten people got everything they needed right at the pharmacy. But we also heard from a few who faced a bump in the road.

We discovered that some of us might not know about pre-paid prescription certificates. No worries, we've got you covered! We've got some helpful info about pre-paid prescription certificates here.

Now, let's talk about teaming up our GPs and Pharmacists! We had some fantastic ideas - more staff in our pharmacies, spreading the word about services, and even better communication between our doctors and pharmacists.

Our journey was guided by respect and privacy. Your stories and opinions are safe with us.

The NHS are bringing in a "Pharmacy First" service, expanding services like blood pressure checks and contraceptives, and improving the way information is shared between doctors and pharmacies.

So, dive into the full report to see how we're all working together to make Medway's healthcare the best it can be. Your voice matters, and we're here to make sure it's heard loud and clear!
