Celebrating International Women's Day

In the second of our interviews to mark International Women's Day, we chat to Jackie Brown who is Assistant Director of Adult Social Care in Medway.

Jackie is passionate about Medway. She was born here and has worked for Medway Council for 25 years.

In our conversation she tells us what it's been like working to support vulnerable people during the pandemic and how she's drawn inspiration from the people she works with.

She wants people to know that if you are struggling right now, there is help available. Call adult social care on 01634 33 44 66 to find out what support you can get or email ss.accessandinfo@medway.gov.uk

You don't need to struggle alone.

A celebration

Jackie also talks passionately about her desire to encourage other young women and give them confidence to achieve. She tells us what advice she would give to her younger self.....it's advice we could all do with!

Visiting loved ones in care homes

Many of us, including Jackie, haven't been able to visit our loved ones in Care Homes for many months. From today, some visitors are being welcomed again in Medway's Care Homes.

Jackie is looking forward to seeing her own brother and she knows that Homes are liaising directly with families to explain the procedures.

It was brilliant to chat to Jackie to mark International Women's Day. We hope you enjoy it too!

Happy International Women's Day
